The timer / buzzer isn't working

If you press isn't starting the countdown timer, or if it is continuously counting down and beeping, it is likely that your micro switch or wiring is faulty. 


The timer and buzzer are controlled by the micro switch found on the right side of the press above the heat plate [20 in the exploded diagram]. 


You should see a metal arm that is slightly bent towards the heat plate cover and when the plate is lifted, you should hear a small click from the microswitch. If the arm is missing or you don’t hear a click, it is likely that you will need to replace the microswitch. 


There are 2 versions of this switch, both work the same but they have different sized connectors. For larger connectors, use XP7049MS / BMC462 ; smaller connectors, use XP7010AMSLL / BM462/A. You may need to bend the arm gently before fitting so that it makes a good contact with the heat plate.
