Adkins Inline / Compact / Pro - Powder Shaking bar not working

TABLE OF CONTENTS

1. Shaking strength to low

If your Shaking bar is not rotating and therefore knocking excess powder off the film, it could be that the shaking strength setting on the display is not set too a high enough value. Increase the Shaking value to approximately 100 to test if this function resolves the problem. If this resolves the problem set the value to an adequate value for your film and powder.

2. (Compact / Pro) Acrylic cover open

If the acrylic cover remains open or not fully closed, the associated switch will not be activated and various functions of the machine will no longer operate. Close the cover full to engage the switch.

3. (Compact / Pro) Faulty safety switch

In a rare case it may be that the switch itself has become faulty. One of the below points may help to resolve the problem.

Clean excess powder around the switch

Powder can build up around the switch which prevents the button from operating. Using a soft brush remove and powder/debris from the switch.

Check the I/O screen to see if the switch is working

Press the I/O button to review the diagnostics screen. Whilst pressing and depressing the safety switch under the acrylic cover, you should see that J22 shows grey or red depending on whether the switch is pressed or depressed (press the switch to test).

Check the wires to the switch are connected

Check that the wires from the switch are connected at the rear of the switch and at J22 on the mainboard as shown in the images below.

The switch is located within a metal bracket which can be removed with two philips screws.
The mainboard is located behind the double doors on the same side of the system as the LCD display.

4. (Compact / Pro) Replace the safety switch

Unfortunately if the above has not resolved the problem the safety switch will need to be replaced.
In very rare instances if the replacement switch does not resolve the problem, the mainboard may need to be replaced.
