If your screen is not turning on, then there are a few things you can try to diagnose the issue.
1. Power to the machine
Firstly, you should check that the machine is getting power. There are a few steps you can follow on within our ‘Machine does not switch on’ article. Please ensure you read this guide before proceeding with the below.
2. Loose cable to the screen
It may be that a cable had just come loose or slightly unseated. With the power to the system discconnected, please check after reseating the cables to see if this resolved the issue.
Tip: Check and reseat the cables at the screen and the mainboard.
3. Oil or powder ingress at the rear of the LCD display screen
Once you have confirmed the issue is not a machine power related issue, the next thing to check is that there is no oil or powder ingress on the rear of the screen.
To clean the rear of the screen, firstly remove the power cable, then take off the side panel off the machine to expose all the electronics. You can then remove the wiring and unscrew the mounting screws to release the screen.
Using a lint free cloth or a dry fine brush, carefully clean the PCB on the rear of the screen where you see any powder or oil.
Once cleaned, follow the previous steps in reverse to mount the screen. Please ensure that the cables are not damaged, and are located correctly.
